Accessibility Statement

1. Scope

This accessibility statement applies to the website and web application renthelfer.de.

2. Applicability of the BFSG

Renthelfer is operated as a micro-enterprise within the meaning of § 3 para. 3 BFSG (fewer than 10 employees, annual turnover or balance sheet total under €2 million). For service providers of this size, the BFSG provides an exemption from the statutory obligation to design services accessibly. This statement is published voluntarily to give our users transparency about the current state of accessibility.

3. Accessibility Status

We align the design of renthelfer.de with the principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. In 2026, an internal technical review was conducted (automated tests with axe-core as well as manual keyboard and screen reader testing); the critical and important deficiencies identified were rectified. A formal external compliance review according to EN 301 549 has not yet been conducted. Therefore, renthelfer.de is still classified as partially accessible.

4. Known Limitations

• Components embedded from third-party providers (Google/Facebook login, Cloudflare Turnstile, Stripe Checkout) are subject to the respective provider's own accessibility and were not separately reviewed.
• Interactive maps and charts (e.g. Mietspiegel views) currently offer limited screen-reader support.
• The accent color "Soft Mint" (brand color) does not achieve the WCAG-AA contrast ratio of 4.5:1 as the sole text color on light surfaces in some places; an adjustment is being considered.
• Created rental letters are generated as PDFs with fixed page layout technology and are not fully readable by screen readers. As an accessible alternative, a pure HTML text view of the letter content is available via the print function.
